This is a movie and not a documentary so I’m having the expectation a lot of the history will be embellished for the sake of drama- but I do wonder why nobody’s tried to tell the story of Mr. Hershey and one of the most successful and lasting businesses of the world sooner. I’m sure this will be a great watch.

My grandmother worked for Milton Hershey when he ran the American Caramel Company in Lancaster PA. So, I have to go see the movie and see if anything was left out. There were other candy companies besides Hershey in that area. Wilburs, Reese, and York to name a few. Yes the last two are now under the Hershey corporation. At one time, they were competitors for the American sweet tooth.😊

Make no mistake, this is a PR move by one of the worlds largest candy corporations, to get you to associate them with warm feelings and strong ethics and buy candy, by telling a heartwarming story. Hershey, along with other chocolate companys, has a long history of relying on child labor and child slavery to aquire their cocoa beans. A corparation is not your friend, a corporation does not have a moral backbone, only the goal to reach maximum profit, by any means they can get away with.
