Overall I feel like authentic kits are sold solely because of the fact that there are collectors and very hardcore soccer fans who want to have exactly what the players will be wearing on the pitch.
Casual fans settle for the “replica” (which is still an official product) because those are designed with the fan in mind.
Gotta keep in mind that the player version of the kits are designed for performance and breathability which makes the shirts lighter and far more fragile.
And they are more expensive because the because even if the fabric on the authentic kits is more fragile, they are still slightly more expensive to produce.
I like fan versions more. Looser fit and i prefer the look of stitched badge over heat pressed.
